Product Design

Creating a new product is one of my favorite design problems to solve. I created these collectable bobbins working with Plaid Enterprises. Bobbins are used to hold thread - to keep it tidy and untangled. Embroidery thread was sold wrapped around the collectable bobbins. I chose animals that might relate to thread or yarn, like the spiders, sheep and cats, and the camels "carry" the thread on their humps.

The next group of animals are bookmarks.

I designed these make-your-own scrapbooks for Chick-fil-A kids meals. They each came with a binder ring and became complete when all assembled. I provided questions and activities as well as spaces for images and drawings in each pack, dedicated to a central theme such as family, school and friends.

One of the many things I learned while working at Carter's was how to make step-and-repeat patterns. This skill has come in handy many times since then - such as when I created these pattern prints and stationary products.

The pig, plane, train and frog are foam stamps. The ink would be applied and then stamped on a surface.
